Our Pastor

Pastor Kelly Dotson received an undergraduate degree in History and Philosophy from Louisiana State University. In 2008 Kelly received his Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS.  Kelly served as a Youth intern at Plains Presbyterian Church, South Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church and Madison Heights in Madison, MS. While in seminary, Kelly worked as a Hospice Chaplain. Kelly currently serves on the executive board of the Midsouth Church Planting Network and is on the session for Parish Church, a church plant in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Kelly is a native of Zachary, Louisiana. He married Amy of Madison, Mississippi in 2006. Together they have one son, Alexander. Both Kelly and Amy love all things related to the people and culture of South Louisiana. They long to see the day when the “joie de vivre” of South Louisiana finds its greatest joy in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Presbyterian Leadership

The word Presbyterian simply means “ruled by elders”. The Leadership of the church consists of elders and deacons. The Elders are divided into two classes: Teaching Elders (Pastors) and Ruling Elders (lay ministers). The Elders are responsible for the Spiritual oversight of the church and are elected by members of the congregation. The Deacons are elected men who serve the physical needs of the church members as well as the oversight of the church building.
