We are Christian
First, we are a Christian church with Christian beliefs. Consequently, we believe that the Bible (the 66 books of the Old and New Testament) are inerrant in the original manuscripts, express God’s will to humanity and are authoritative over all of life. God exists in three persons known as the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All people sin and fall short of the Glory of God deserving his wrath and displeasure. Nevertheless, salvation is offered through Jesus Christ, the only redeemer of God’s elect. This salvation is only by God’s grace through faith in his son. God works in history through Covenantal relationships and has shown himself faithful throughout all generations. Furthermore, we believe the Holy Spirit is active and indwells the heart of God’s people. He breathes new life into dead sinners and causes us to live more and more for Christ and his Glory. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ and the resurrection from the dead. All of life is meant to be lived under the authority of Jesus Christ, in worship of him for the sake of his Glory.
We are Presbyterian
Second, we are a Presbyterian church, and a member of the Presbyterian Church in America. Presbyterian churches enjoy a rich theological and historical tradition stretching back to the 16th century reformation in Switzerland and Scotland and the further 17th century reformation in England. These reformations were not new “reformations”. Instead they represent a recovery of the beliefs and practices of the apostolic church found in the Holy Scriptures.
We are Confessional
Third, we are a Confessional church, believing that the Westminster Confession of Faith along with the Larger Catechism (part 1, part 2) and the Shorter Catechism best summarize the teaching of Holy Scriptures.
